3 Budget Filmmaking CAMERAS ($300-$600)
A "Real" Blog About "Fake Filmmaking"
This blog is real (not created with A.I.) but it's still fake and I'll tell you why. The reason is, I believe in using budget gear, and making things work. A number of years ago transitioned from photography (and graphic design) and set out to see if a still photographer could transition to filmmaking. I started testing super-low-budget cameras (the GH2, GX1, G3, G5, G7, GH4, GX85, G85, FZ1000...) and figuring out custom camera settings for each lens-sensor combination. I learned that as long as you find that "sweet spot" in each combination, you really CAN get good quality on a super low budget. So, I started writing down everything I learned (so I could remember) but eventually had to create this website (so I could put the settings into a searchable database). I've also started testing budget filmmaking LIGHTS and AUDIO, but those are going to be more long-term reviews. For more information, check out the other blog posts below and my YouTube channel or my Spotify podcast.
That camera in the picture is my Panasonic G3 and adapted Olympus OM lens set. It was part of what opened my eyes to the idea that budget Micro Four Thirds cameras could produce excellent results.
